They say that most good and spectacular things in life happen without a plan; friendships, finding your true passion and falling in love.

March 11, 2011. Elvin mustered the courage to add Lynnette in Facebook, yes, you read it right… Facebook..They were members of the MIT Facebook Group (DMMMSU-Master in Information Technology), Lynnette finished her master’s degree on 2011, the same year Elvin decided to enroll in the same course. Elvin saw Atty. Gilbert Hufana’s post (Former MIT chairman) congratulating Lynnette for being the 7th MIT graduate..and fate played its way to Elvin’s heart.. and he was mesmerized.. It was the beginning of an admiration..

Lynnette don’t usually add people on Facebook, especially people outside her friends’ circle. But, lo and behold, she accepted Elvin’s friend request.. She thought, “He seemed nice”.

..and their friendship started online.. Elvin casually chat Lynnette with photography, tech stuff and anything under-the-sun topics.. She was comfortable with him.. They usually bumped into each other in some places..but God was already preparing them for something bigger.

..and that day came, one fateful day of March 2013, when Mico Salamanca, their common friend, invited Elvin to a wedding photography and videography gig. Lynnette was one of the photographers of Light Munkis, a photography group specializing in events. Mico texted Elvin to fetch for someone (…and that is Lynnette..) in Philtrust..

Mico: May susunduin ka sa philtrust. Para sabay na kayo punta.
Elvin: Okay.

Elvin was surprised when she saw Lynnette approaching his car. He muttered to himself “si crush”..Kilig was all over in his bones. He has a GoPro that time.. he secretly captures her while she was busy shooting people.

..then event after an event after an event.. their friendship grew more outside photography..  Elvin and Lynnette, together with Light Munkis team, decided to play Skimboard  (a boardsport in which a skimboard (much like a surfboard but smaller and without fins) is used to glide across the water’s surface to meet an incoming breaking wave, and ride it back to shore.)

She always fell flat on her butt.. laughing at her own clumsiness..not knowing, someone is slowly falling in love with her. Elvin silently loved Lynnette. She was in a relationship, at that time. but God moves in mysterious ways.

She remembered praying for someone to love her unconditionally. For someone to respect her and support her big dreams. Unknowingly, God already answered her prayer, and it’s right in front of her; Elvin. He waited for Lynnette until she’s ready to enter in a relationship after her previous one. A rare character of a man. They enjoyed being with each other.. just having the time of their lives.. Exploring places, creating adventures and opportunities.  They grow together..in friendship and love..

They officially become a couple on December 14, 2014.

Both of them are geeks. He is a seasoned programmer and a software developer. She is an Ed Tech and Multimedia enthusiast. They both decided to open a software development business, they call it “Evenly Ten” Web Solutions. If you are wondering where they derived the name. Evenly Ten is an anagram for Elvin and Lynet.

December 14, 2016. Exactly their two years of being together. Elvin finally popped the big question. In a cozy resort in San Juan, La union…Kahuna 🙂 Under the starry skies and beside the calming sound of waves, she said YES 🙂

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
